PRICE REDUCTIONS ON
WIRELESS NETWORK ACCESS SYSTEM
Driven By Customer Demand and Market Conditioning
COMDEX, LAS VEGAS, NV, November 15, 1999--- Clarinet Systems, Inc., (San Jose, CA) wireless networking equipment provider, has reduced prices by nearly 20 percent on its eight- and 16-port EthIR LAN/WAN network access systems. The price reductions are driven by customer demand and continuos progress toward cost-efficiencies as well as an effort to further seed the market with infrared (IR)-based systems.
Specifically the eight-port system, originally $1,879, is now $1,520. The 16-port system is now $2,760 from $3,399. Reduced pricing for both systems is 19 percent.
Per port pricing of $190 for the eight-port system and $173 for the 16-port system represents significant cost savings especially when compared to RF-based systems.
Pricing for both systems includes EthIR Switch® and EthIR Beam®.
These price reductions should make EthIR LAN/WAN even more viable and cost-effective for connecting handheld and palm-sized PCs used in business and convention centers, hospitality suites, airport lounges, hospitals and healthcare facilities, financial services organizations, insurance, warehousing, education and delivery services companies, or just about any organization with a mobile workforce.
