Milpitas, CA, February 26, 2001-- Clarinet Systems, Inc. (Milpitas, CA) a global provider of wireless connectivity for handheld appliances, and MagiWeb Corporation (Taipei, Taiwan) a worldwide systems integrator for Internet connectivity for the hospitality market and Crown Plaza Hotels in Taipei Taiwan, have entered into a strategic alliance to provide guest and business travelers wireless network connectivity for handheld PC devices.

The Crown Plaza will incorporate multi-service wireless access programs for the hotels customers and establish it self as one of the world first hotels to provide high-speed Internet connectivity for virtually all-popular handheld devices.
One of several services that will be offered is "FreeConnect" where a Clarinet Systems EthIR Beam (Access Port) will be installed in specific rooms to provide free Internet access to guests. "FreeConnect" will be installed in 40 rooms.
A second wireless connectivity option offered is designed for the business traveler. Titled "Hi-meeting", this service provides high speed Internet access for meetings and conferences room.

Other services will include using a PDA to wirelessly make hotel reservations as well as take orders at a restaurant.
"The projected goal is to install wireless connectivity for handheld devices in over 6000 rooms this year throughout business oriented hotels in Taiwan", said Samuel Lln, President of MAGIWEB.
