CLARINET SYSTEMS TEAMS-UP WITH FITSYNC
TO PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN PROVIDING
WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY IN THE FITNESS INDUSTRY

San Francisco CA, March 22, 2001 -- Clarinet Systems, Inc. (Milpitas, CA) a global provider of wireless connectivity for handheld devices, and FitSync Corporation, a developer of health and fitness applications for mobile devices announced today a far reaching alliance to use wireless infrared access solutions for the fitness industry in ways never thought of before.

Recognizing the rising popularity of infrared-ready, handheld devices such as the Palm handheld organizer, Clarinet Systems and FitSync will demonstrate together at the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association's (IHRSA) 20th Anniversary Trade Show in San Francisco, their vision of replacing the clipboard at the gym or fitness center by utilizing a handheld device system that's easy to use and lets the user manage their exercise program through a Palm handheld or the Web.

How it works: As a member of a fitness center or gym arrives at their facility, they can use their Palm device to download their workout, receive new club information or special instructions from their personal trainer before they start, by using the FitSync application on their Palm. Available in both personal and private labeled professional versions, FitSync replaces the paper tracking methods used to record fitness training with a Palm-based system featuring touch screen data entry, remote program management, scheduling, messaging, Web-based data analysis, and m-commerce capabilities.

The member's workout information can be accessed by pointing the Palm handheld device to any of the conveniently located "EthIR Beams" from Clarinet Systems. These "EthIR Beams" can be located at the check-in counter, or at specific downloading areas around the gym with a wall mount configuration beam. When the workout is finished, the user can beam the results of their program back to their trainer for evaluation.

"This is another example of how two companies working together can provide innovative solutions utilizing infrared wireless technology to expand the boundaries of communication, save resources and time in all aspects of work and play" said Sanjeev Dua, V.P. of Marketing and Business Development for Clarinet Systems.

"FitSync demonstrates that mobile applications are a natural progression for a fitness community seeking more efficient ways to reach their increasingly mobile and time-crunched membership," said Paul Wittrock, president and founder of FitSync Corporation. "Clarinet Systems gives health clubs and our users the flexibility to use FitSync's application with any Palm handheld device."

About FitSync

Corporation Paul Wittrock, a former college athlete, seeking an alternative to recording his personal fitness routines on workout cards or in notebooks first developed the idea of a Web- linked, handheld weight-lifting tracking system several years ago while working out in the gym.

He founded FitSync Corporation, headquartered in Washington, D.C., based on his U.S. patent for a handheld fitness tracking application and mobile platform. Partnering with Aether Systems, a global leader in developing and implementing wireless solutions, and BitWrench Incorporated, a Washington, D.C.-based Web applications developer, FitSync has created a robust and scalable Web-based, mobile platform for the health and fitness market. Specifically designed for the fitness community, FitSync's application and platform lets health clubs, personal trainers, and Web portals connect with their clients via a mobile interface featuring global and personalized client messaging, remote exercise program management, data display and analysis, client and trainer management, mobile device administration, and m-commerce solutions.
