CLARINET SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES THE EthIR STAR PRODUCT LINE

Milpitas, CA, April 10, 2001- Clarinet Systems, Inc. a global provider of wireless connectivity for handheld appliances, today announced it will expand its already innovative product line by announcing another feature rich Infrared connectivity product, The EthIR STAR. The EthIR STAR product line consisting of a talented triad of wireless connectivity products (Titled EthIR STAR 1000, 2000 and 3000) is designed to promote cost-effective, wireless network access solutions using infrared technology for a wide range of markets.

With an already impressive list of worldwide developers producing new applications daily, the EthIR STAR is poised to exceed all expectations for its customers and even the success of the EthIR LAN products. Already creating a splash in market segments ranging from Hospitality to Restaurants, the EthIR STAR empowers users of handheld devices to experience the freedom and time saving productivity of wireless connectivity in areas they never dreamed of.

How they work:

The EthIR STAR 1000 is an immensely powerful and highly versatile product capable of delivering customized messages to Palm OS and other handheld devices incorporating OBEX while additionally providing network access to users of Palm OS, WinCE/Pocket PC, EPOC32 PDAs and laptops with Windows 95/98/2000. Catering to the fast growth of PDA devices, the EthIR STAR 1000 uses the highly reliable Infrared and OBEX standards to beam information in a more efficient manner. Applications include use in: trade shows and retail stores where users can receive real time information about events and company information as well as sale prices on selected store merchandise on their handheld PC devices.

EthIR STAR 2000 and EthIR STAR 3000 use patent pending technology to greatly enhance the ability of OBEX enabled PDAs and laptops to provide users a richer connectivity experience. The 2000 and the 3000 transmit information using OBEX, while also providing network connectivity using traditional TCP/IP/PPP over infrared. Applications include use in: Museums, Healthcare, Education and Restaurants were waiters will have the ability to
beam all their order content from their handheld device via Infrared, to a central processing server in the kitchen,
thus, eliminating the need for paper and server syncing software.

The EthIR STAR 3000 will also be used today at the Comdex Asia show April 10-12, 2001 at the Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Center, Singapore. Sunderland Technologies a Reseller for Clarinet Systems, will be using the EthIR Star 3000 to beam games to users with Palm handheld PC's.
