Fremont, CA. - April 30, 2002 - Harvard Medical School students can now receive course information and other medical applications on their PDAs through Clarinet Systems' wireless infrared connectivity solution, the EthIR LAN™. EthIR LAN products were recently implemented at Harvard Medical School's Center for Educational Technology and student computing facilities so that students can download applications and synchronize course information in real time.

"This System helped us accomplish our goals by providing a simple method of delivering medical applications to students in an efficient manner. In addition, students and faculty can synchronize content on their PDA independently of computer workstations", says Jason Alvarez, Manager, Educational Computing at Harvard Medical School. Another way the school saves time is by using Clarinet Systems' ASP (Active Server Page) component for the EthIR LAN. With this component it is possible to create a simple Web page that distributes applications to any site on campus that has the EthIR LAN product. This enables the school to centrally manage application distribution using one web page and multiple EthIR LAN high-speed LAN access systems.

This same technology is also in use at Stanford University's Fleischmann learning center, adjacent to the Lane Medical library and at over 40 Schools and Universities across the U.S that have discovered the benefits of Infrared technology for a greater mobile learning experience.
