for connectivity of handheld computing devices
using USB technology for LAN access.

Continuing innovations in connectivity for handheld devices in 2006, now using USB as well as infrared technology for short range extension of wired networks, Clarinet Systems announced the availability of 1) USBShare™ USB Storage and Printer Server providing small office/home office (SOHO) users convenient and secure storage media sharing; 2) EtherUSB™ USB Ethernet Access Point which connects handheld devices to networks using USB. EtherUSB provides secure solutions for customers in banking and other industries where radio frequency (RF) wireless connectivity such as WiFi violates network security policies or is otherwise unsuitable; and 3) The Greenhub™ energy-saving, mini Ethernet Switch consumes very little power for users wanting products that are economical and environmentally friendly.

EtherUSB™ EA104 - 4 Port USB Ethernet Access Point for connecting PDAs

EtherUSB™ (part# EA104) is a USB to Ethernet access point for connecting PDAs or handheld computing devices to an Ethernet 10/100 Base-T network through its USB port. The EA104 is equipped with four USB host ports and one 10/100 Base-T uplink, and provides TCP/IP based network connectivity for up to four PDA devices via the PDA USB cradle or USB cable. Each connected PDA can perform server synchronization, Internet browsing, and file transfer.

GreenHub™ PW105 - Mini 5-port SOHO Ethernet Switch

The GreenHub™ Mini 5-port SOHO Switch (part# PW-105) is unique due to it’s small size and low power consumption. It can be powered by a USB cable from your PC, or through the regular power adapter included. With it’s small size, the unit can be located unobtrusively on top of your desk making connection and disconnection easier and more convenient. Using a USB cable to power the unit from your PC saves you one power extension plug as well as reducing overall energy consumption. Low power consumption of no more than 4 watts makes the PW-105 an environment-friendly device.
