Johns Hopkins Enhances Mobile Data Access with Clarinet Systems’ EthIR LAN
Johns Hopkins Medical Institute in Baltimore, MD is a world-renowned medical institution noted for leading-edge medical care innovations. When seeking to add mobile access functionality to its administrative and clinical information systems, Johns Hopkins selected Clarinet Systems’ multi-port ESB208 wireless infrared networking switches as the hardware component of the solution.
Clarinet’s ESB208 8-port switches will be used in the Johns Hopkins departmental offices, dialysis labs and nursing stations to provide wireless network access for Palm OS PDAs running the ChargeKeeper software application from PatientKeeper. The high-level security feature of the infrared point-to-point syncing process provided by Clarinet’s EthIR LAN solution, together with the quick and easy PDA device set-up enabled through the ClarinetIR software utility, were key factors in Johns Hopkins decision to purchase Clarinets’ ESB208 switches.
PatientKeeper, headquartered in Brighton, MA, is one of the leading providers of mobile solutions for patient data management and other healthcare solutions. Additional information about PatientKeeper’s ChargeKeeper software, and the company’s other products, can be found at www.patientkeeper.com.
