Clarinet Systems EthIRLAN deployed at SUNY's Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island

Clarinet Systems EthIR LAN is being deployed for the PatientKeeper (PK) PDA-based application at the outpatient facilities of University Physicians of Stony Brook on Long Island, which has 500 affiliated providers practicing in 18 professional corporations, and in the University Hospital itself.

2 ES608 4-port SyncHubs, and 28 ESB301 singleport IR LAN access points are being deployed in doctors' offices and clinics within common areas such as doctors' lounges and administrative offices. Physicians are initially synching their PatientKeeper application in these outpatient facilities outside of the hospital where they see patients. The PK software and EthIR LAN systems are being used in this first phase of deployment by 30 to 40 physicians in the departments of surgery and internal medicine. Dell Axims and a variety of HP iPaq PocketPCs are being used as a PDA platform.
